Methodology
Axidex continuously classifies business-change events into 22 signal types across three tiers: high intent, strategic trigger, and engagement. The figures below are aggregate counts pulled directly from our production database — 111,267 signals detected between 22 June 2026 and 19 October 2026 (just under 4 months). No individual company names or user data are included; these are platform-wide totals only.
Signals by tier
The biggest surprise in our own data: engagement-tier signals (product launches, events, partnerships) dwarf the “classic” strategic triggers that most sales teams fixate on, like funding and hiring.
| Tier | Count | % of total | Examples |
|---|---|---|---|
| Strategic trigger | 29,015 | 26.1% | Hiring, funding, expansion, leadership change, acquisition, IPO, tech adoption |
| Engagement | 79,914 | 71.8% | Product launch, partnership, event, award, restructuring, stakeholder engagement |
| High intent | 2,338 | 2.1% | Pricing page visit, demo request, content consumption, review site activity |
Full breakdown by signal type
Product launches alone account for nearly 29% of every signal we detect — more than 7x the volume of funding signals. Funding rounds and acquisitions, the signals most sales teams chase first, are comparatively rare and highly contested.
| Signal type | Count | Tier |
|---|---|---|
| Product launch | 31,934 | Engagement |
| Stakeholder engagement | 14,071 | Engagement |
| Event | 11,624 | Engagement |
| Award | 10,575 | Engagement |
| Partnership | 8,891 | Engagement |
| Expansion | 7,632 | Strategic trigger |
| Hiring | 7,595 | Strategic trigger |

| Layoff | 263 | Engagement |
Only 3.9% of signals are high priority
Of all 111,267 signals, 4,306 (3.9%) were scored high priority and 106,961 (96.1%) medium priority. Almost none scored low — Axidex's classifier discards true noise before it ever reaches a user. The practical takeaway: the signals worth acting on immediately are a small, specific slice of all business-change activity. Teams that try to manually track “everything” drown in the 96% and miss the top 4% that actually converts.
What this means for sales teams
- — Do not build your entire signal strategy around funding rounds. They are only 3.9% of all strategic-trigger signals and get the most competing outreach.
- — Product launches and partnership announcements are under-used buying signals relative to how often they occur — there is less competition for a company's attention right after they ship something new.
- — Prioritisation matters more than coverage. With 96% of signals landing at medium priority, a workflow that cannot triage automatically will bury the handful of signals that actually warrant same-day outreach.
